Pharmacy

The pharmacists dispense and review drugs for both inpatients and outpatients. We aim to ensure the safe, effective and affordable use of drugs. The pharmacists are responsible for the quality of medicines supplied to patients and all the medicines dispensed to patients are NAFDAC registered. The pharmacists make assessments about the quality of medicines before they are supplied to patients. The Pharmacists also ensure that all drugs prescribed to patients are suitable for them.

The pharmacists can advise patients about what medicines to take, how to take them and side effects of medications. Our pharmacists are also able to answer patients’ questions about medications.

Pharmacy

Pharmacists at Memfys Hospital either work closely with our medical staff to ensure patients receive appropriate medicines or they can dispense medicines directly to out-patients who have a prescription from a medical doctor.

The hospital adheres to ethical practice of the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria and World Health Organisation. The Unit ensures procurement of quality affordable medications, dispensing as approved by the World Health Organisation and provides proper counselling on drug use to minimise misuse and to make patients aware of possible side effects. Patients are advised also to report any adverse reactions for proper documentation.

Pharmacists at Memfys Hospital participate in Ward-rounds with doctors and consultants, working in synergy to ensure adequate patient care.
