Memfys hospital has an arrangement with the Department of Neurosurgery, Shinshu University School of Medicine, Matsumoto Nagano, Japan to send residents on six months postings for training in neurosurgery and research.
This arrangement has been in place since 2013 and to date 12 Doctors have benefited from it and one of them Dr Ndukuba was awarded a scholarship in Japan for the training.
Professor Kazuhiro Hongo as Head of Department led a team of four staff on an official visit to Memfys Hospital in 2017 while Prof S Ohaegbulam and Dr C Ndubuisi made a return visit to Shinshu University in 2018 to cement the relationship.
