A group of neurosurgeons from the Shinshu University School of Medicine, Matsumoto Nagano, Japan paid a week long visit to MHN and Enugu from 10 to 15th August, 2017. The group of neurosurgeons was led by Professor Hongo Kazihiro and his colleagues Dr. Tetsuya Goto, Dr. Hasegawa and Maki Kamijo. The Shinshu University School of Medicine has kindly hosted Neurosurgical Residents from MHN on 6 months postings for training in Neurosurgery.
The visit by the Japanese Neurosurgeons was intended to deepen this relationship and was in response to invitations extended by Professor Ohaegbulam and MHN residents to the Japanese Neurosurgeons.
The visiting neurosurgeons participated in the Orient Neuroscience Society 2017 Scientific and General meeting at Memfys from 11th to 12th August and also took time out to explore & tour the city of Enugu, South-East, Nigeria. They visited different Christian churches in the state as well as the National Museum of Unity, Awhum Waterfall, Ogbete main market and many other tourist centres in the State. They were accompanied by some members of the Memfys staff.
On the night of 12th August, Memfys hosted the Japanese guests to a buffet dinner at Nike Lake Resort Hotels. On the 13th August, a Cultural Night party was organized for the Japanese guests and they wore Nigerian local attires.
